100% Norway 2010 – getting the party started!
Preparations for the 100% Norway exhibition in London in September continued at a pace last week in Norway.
John Jenkins, Design Manager for the highly regarded British store chain Heal’s, held a Design Clinic for this year’s exhibitors at Innovation Norway’s offices in Oslo on 9th, 10th & 11th June.
John, who has been hired as the external consultant for the project this year, gave each exhibitor 50 minutes of his valuable time to discuss their product(s), focusing in on the details and giving sound advice, particularly in terms of what they needed to do to succeed in the UK market.
He was assisted by Clare Harrison, Hilde Hukkelberg, and Patrick Daly from Innovation Norway London and Merete Hildonen, project manager for 100% Norway, who all contributed to the Clinic sessions.
The Design Clinic was closely followed on 11th June by a Design Seminar. The seminar took place in the Majorstuen area of Oslo, at the headquarters of Norsk Industri, and was designed (no pun intended!) to give this year’s exhibitors an insight into what will be required of them before, during, and after the exhibition.
Amanda Kasper from Camron PR gave a presentation on ‘making the most of participation at 100% Norway’ whilst co-curators Henrietta Thompson and Benedicte Sunde, and Thomas Aastad, Merete Hildonen, Clare Harrison and Patrick Daly all contributed to a ‘Practical Information’ presentation.
Also, Nick Sloane and Benedikte Solberg from the Norwegian ‘Jøtul Group’ gave an entertaining presentation about their company’s rise and success in the UK, whilst Andy Chen, Vice President of Digital Strategy at Viacom, gave an insight into web presence, social media and marketing.
Lastly but by no means least, all the exhibitors took to the stage one by one and gave a two minute presentation about themselves and their products. The countdown to 100% Norway 2010 really has begun!
