During the last six years, Mr. Akselsen has held the position of CEO for Viking Life-Saving Equipment NO AS.During these years he has entertained a close contact with our offices in both Houston and Rio through a cooperation agreement both places.
Bjørn Tormod Akselsen has a very extensive network in both offshore-and maritime industry with more than 20 years experience from the oil-& gas sector/supplier industry from Norway as well as internationally. He also has relevant practical experience from almost two years as a young engineer on various platforms in the North Sea.
In the last 12 to 15 years, Mr. Akselsen has primarily worked on international assignments related to sales and project executions from vendors. As such, he has undertaken short - to medium term assignments in places like the UK, Scotland, South-Korea and Australia. These stays have enabled him to acquire a cross-cultural understanding of leadership-style as well as understanding the importance of cross-cultural relation building.
Bjørn Tormod Akselsen has earned a degree from the Scandinavian Academy of Aeronautics (1983- 1986) as an aeronautical engineer. Theme topics on hydromantic, instrumentation and gas turbines. However, from very early on it became evident that his managerial skills opened up for a career where his strong interpersonal skills gave him personnel and project management responsibilities.

A native Houstonian, Juli has been with the Innovation Norway’s Houston office since 2002. She has worked primarily within the oil & gas industry with a strong focus on market research and business development. Juli has a strong understanding of the dynamic and competitive US oil & gas market and has assisted a number of Norwegian companies assess and enter into that market.
Juli's current focus is on assessing opportunities for Norwegian companies in Houston, Alaska and N. Dakota as well as developing market knowledge related to Deepwater, Arctic and EOR focused technologies. She also acts as the Team Lead for the Innovation Norway Americas Oil & Gas Sector Team in addition to assisting in the development of the Global Oil & Gas Sector Team strategy.
Juli has a BA in Computer Science from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Amy Becker joined the Innovation Norway team January 19th, 2009. Her work experience spans many fields in the hospitality industry as well as the nonprofit sector. Amy worked for Six Flags Fiesta Texas for almost ten years, in a host of roles including Human Resources, Operations Management, and Retail staffing. Most recently, Amy was managing the Alumni Relations department for a non profit organization called Amigos de las Americas, headquartered in Houston, Texas. Amy is a fifth generation native Houstonian.
Amy's duties for Innovation Norway include managing client projects, marketing Innovation Norway Houston's services to potential clients in Norway, and identifying key sectors of interest for Norwegian companies. Amy also coordinates local events for the INTSOK office and assists with events for the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce.
Amy has a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Texas in San Antonio. |
