Recipients of the NOREPS grants for humanitarian innovation and preparedness 2017

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave Innovation Norway the mandate to manage funding to humanitarian innovation and preparedness initiatives in 2017. See an overview of the Norwegian humanitarian organizations and UN agencies who received the NOREPS grant for 2017 below.

In 2017, Innovation Norway received 64 applications for a total of NOK 77.7 million. 22 of these received support by a total of NOK 36.6 million, including NOK 5 million to UNHRD for the purchase of innovative emergency relief products for a Norwegian emergency preparedness stock managed by the United Nations. 15 different organizations received these funds, divided between eight UN agencies and seven Norwegian humanitarian organizations.
 
The funds were allocated 60/40 between humanitarian innovation and preparedness. 11 projects in humanitarian innovation were awarded a total of NOK 19.1 million and correspondingly 11 projects in emergency preparedness NOK 12.5 million. The Norwegian Emergency preparedness stock is not part of this distribution.
 
The funds were distributed in December 2017 with a 6 month project period.

The goal of the scheme is to stimulate innovation projects and strengthen humanitarian emergency preparedness with focus on supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
