Showcasing and exploring Nordic Sustainable Urban Solutions
The Sustainable Urban Solutions conference in Copenhagen will provide an opportunity for Norwegian cities to work in co-creation workshops on solutions for their concrete challenges together with an international audience of leading solutions providers.
The conference will also provide an opportunity to Norwegian smart city solutions providers to connect to leading international and Nordic cities innovation processes and to leading experts and potential partners.
In addition, this event will give an opportunity to solutions providers to present their ideas and solutions to concrete city challenges.
On Wednesday 23rd May 2018, CLEAN, Tillväxtverket, Innovation Norway, Business Finland, Promote Iceland, Cleantech Scandinavia & Climate-KIC will host the Sustainable Urban Solutions conference. The conference will invite 400 international guests to meet with leading Nordic partners to showcase the Nordic model & explore sustainable solutions. The conference is in connection to the Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation, two high-level political forums for international decision makers, experts and business executives, and part of the Nordic Clean Energy Week in Copenhagen and Malmö.
Companies: The solution providers that can contribute to the implementation of sustainable solutions to city challenges (industry, consultancy, technologies, architects etc.)
Cities: The front runners & demand drivers who are committed to the green transition and open collaboration.
Investors: International investors for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), institutional investors and Venture Capital investors (corporate VC’s, funds etc.)
Experts: Academics, researchers, NGO representatives etc.
The Sustainable Urban Solutions conference is focusing on setting cities as the change makers who are driving the green transition. We are looking for leading cities to present sustainability challenges they are facing to solution providers and experts for a co-creation workshop that will look to initiate innovation and foster Public Private Partnerships (PPP). The conference offers the possibility for cities to present a concrete challenge to an international audience of leading solutions providers.
The conference offers facilitated co-creation workshops with the focus of innovative ideas to the cities challenges. In addition, the event gives an opportunity to meet leading companies, experts and cities for further collaboration and sharing of experiences. Approximately 10-12 cities will be selected as challenge cities, however, more cities will be invited to take part during the conference.
The conference provides also a platform for solution providers to get access and connections to leading cities innovation processes when it comes to the development of new sustainable urban solutions. It will give the solutions providers a possibility to engage in concrete city challenges and to showcase their solutions, ideas and experiences. Furthermore, will the conference create an arena for establishing partnerships with complementing solutions providers and experts within sustainable urban solutions.
The conference also offers the possibility for cities to present and share experiences from their successful developments and implementations of sustainable urban solutions and the possibility for cities to learn and get inspired by other cities and solutions providers.
The program will feature:
- Key note speeches and panel discussions with decision makers, experts and business leaders
- Co-creation workshops with the focus of innovative ideas to the cities challenges
- A dedicated process for further development of solutions to the concrete challenges
The conference is organized by Innovation Norway together with our Nordic partners, CLEAN (DK), Tillväxtverket (SE), Business Finland (FI), Promote Iceland (IS), Cleantech Scandinavia and Climate KIC.
This conference is part of the Nordic Innovation, Nordic Sustainable Cities program, with the aim to “strengthen the Nordic brand, add value to existing trade promotion efforts through Nordic cooperation and to expand the market potential for Nordic businesses”.
