New York City's tech community, a significant part of which is already bolstered by foreign startups, is an ideal environment for Norwegian tech firms looking to enhance market knowledge, build networks, and refine strategies they can apply to grow their businesses both in the US and internationally.

No city in the world epitomizes sales, marketing and branding like New York City. The city is well-known for an atmosphere of strong commercial focus, and the startups and entrepreneurs that come out of here reflect that. Many of the best people in the world within PR, branding, marketing and sales live and work in NYC.

New York is also the fastest growing region in the US for venture capital investments, with more than $4.5 billion invested in 2014, with a 53% YoY growth. New York has produced several billion-dollar startups the last few years, and the top VC firm Andreassen & Horowitz predicts 10 new “unicorns” to come out of NYC in the next 3 to 5 years... 

The program

The Innovation Norway Sales & Marketing program in New York will give you the skills, tools and mindset to brand, market and sell your products and services in the global marketplace. The program is hands-on, with a mix of learning-days and doing-days, as well as one-on-one meetings with top executives in relevant fields, and evening networking events.

During learning-days world class experts run workshops in marketing, branding PR, and sales. During the doing-days you will get more time to work on the deliverables from each workshop and continue to apply what you learnt, on your own business.

You will also have one-on-one meetings with experts and senior executives that will help you as well as challenge you in your thinking and your plans.

At the end of the program you will have worked through the deliverables from each workshop, and defined clear and relevant goals for the following 6 months.

Who you are:

You are running a company with a product or service on the market. You have sufficient funding in place, at least for the near future, either from sales or from investors. You and your company are ready to address an international market.

You are either the founder, CEO or an executive in sales or marketing within your company. You are in a position to represent your company and make decisions on its behalf.

Important dates

EMNY will run 2 times in 2017:

  • Spring, April 24 - May 5, (kick off in Oslo in March.)
  • Fall. October 23- November 3 (with kick-off in Oslo September 7 and 8)

Application deadlines:

  • Spring: January 10, 2017.
  • Fall: May 22, 2017.

Cost and funding:

Participation fee is NOK 10,000 per person. The fee covers keynotes, workshops and mentoring at kickoff 2 days in Oslo, and 10 days in NYC.

Travel, accommodation, insurance, living expenses during your stay, is not included and is to be paid by the participants.
