About the Programme:
Business Innovation Greece is a programme that aims to increase value creation and sustainable growth in the Greek business sector.
The Programme is financed by the EEA Grants and is a part of the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021. The EEA and Norway Grants aim at contributing to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the Donor States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and the Beneficiary States.

Results from the First Call for Proposals, "Business Innovation Greece" Programme
The First Call for Proposals closed on 1st October 2019. The final list of approved projects is now published.

The 2nd Call for Proposals under the Business Innovation Greece Programme was closed on 18th February 2021. 37 applications were received by the closing date of the Call.
The total budget for these applications is EURO € 32,811,072.00 and the total grant amount applied for is EURO € 18,343,520.00. The total amount available for financing of projects in this Call was EUR 13 060 750.
12 of the applicants applied with a Norwegian partner. There are no proposed projects with a partner from Iceland or Lichtenstein.
14 project applications under the focus area of Green Industry Innovation were submitted, 10 fall under the Individual Project Scheme and 4 under the Small Grant Scheme.
7 project applications under the focus area Blue Growth were submitted. Of those, 6 fall under the Individual Project Scheme and 1 under the Small Grants Scheme.
16 project applications under the focus area of ICT were submitted. Of those, 11 fall under the Individual Project Scheme and 5 under the Small Grants Scheme.
All applicants will be informed in writing about the eligibility of their application by end of March.

Programme Area Specifics:
The Business Innovation Greece Programme will seek to stimulate and develop long-term business cooperation between Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway on one hand, and Greece on the other, based on business development and innovation.
The aim is to allocate 75% of the funding to SMEs. Priority will be given to bilateral partnership projects offering added value.
The Programme will consist of the following three focus areas, with the funding allocated as such:
The Call for Travel Support is currently open.
The objective of the Travel Support is to facilitate establishment of bilateral business partnerships between the Donor States and Greece with the intent to participate in the calls under this Programme.
Entities from Grece and the three Donor States can apply for funding. The applicants must be constituted as legal entities in Greece or in one of the Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway). All information regarding the eligibility conditions are included in the Guidelines for Travel Support.
Step 1 - Apply
You will find the link to the documents at the bottom of this page. Please note that Innovation Norway's written approval is required prior to your travel.
Applications for Travel Support will be assessed and awarded by Innovation Norway on a continuous basis (until the depletion of the available budget).
Step 2 - Disbursement of Funds and Reporting
The funds are offered based on reimbursement principle. The expenditures are covered by the applicant from his own funds and a reimbursement request will be submitted to Innovation Norway after the travel has taken place.
This should be based on a Request for Reimbursement and a Declaration of De Minimis Aid.
An applicant who is affected by a decision by innovation Norway on the formal and administrative eligibility of their application may file an appeal against the decision within 30 days after the decision has been communicated. Appeals must be filed via email to gr.innovation@innovationnorway.no.
Final decisions on whether to finance a project or not are not subject to this appeal procedure. In accordance with the Law on Innovation Norway, such decisions cannot be appealed.
Appeals are dealt with by the responsible Programme Director and/or the Innovation Norway Programme Director for the EEA and Norway Grants. A decision on the appeal will be issued within two weeks from the date the appeal was received.
