Romania: Optimising and Greening Water Management Processes

Apa Vital is a public company in the field of water supply and sewerage services in Romania and the only regional operator licensed in the field in Iasi county. They provide water services to more than 527.000 inhabitants in its operational area. 

The main objective of their project is to implement a photovoltaic plant in order to assure electricity from renewable resources for the technological process. The plant will contribute to a significant reduction in electricity costs and will reduce the CO2 emissions.

Expected outcomes

  • Estimated annual CO2 emission reduction: 328 tonnes of CO2 eq./year
  • Energy produced from other renewable sources in MWh/year: 1.072 MWh/year
  • Installed capacity of the photovoltaic plant in MW: 0,89 MW
