    This market visit is tailor-made for the target group in Norway with ambitions to explore Chinese market opportunities for maritime zero/low-emission and decarbonization solutions.

    Please be informed that this market visit to Shanghai& Jiangsu, was previously planned on May 22-26, but has been re-scheduled to October 10- 14 tentatively in order to offer participants a well-focused visiting program.

    The geographic focus of the market visit is the region of Shanghai and the neighboring province of Jiangsu where the world leading shipbuilding facilities and competency are gathered.

    Information about the tour, company introduction and practicalities

    This one-week visiting program consists of thematic seminars, presentations, networking events, site visits and one to one business talks to be carried out to 3-4 cities/locations. Norwegian embassy and Consulate General, Norwegian Business Association in China will give full support to the program. Chinese authorities in Shanghai and Jiangsu province have shown interest to cooperate with Innovation Norway on the event.

    The goal of developing “green shipping technology and solution” in the region of Shanghai and Jiangsu province matches perfectly with Norwegian expertise in the maritime sector and the existing and potential market opportunities shall never by neglected. Specifically, this market visit is targeting low and zero emission ship technologies and decarbonization solutions for inland waterways, short sea/coastal shipping segment as well as for ocean-going vessels.

    The region also boosts the world class supply chain and talented engineers and skillful labor force. Major shipbuilders of China have yards in the region, building various types of ships ranging from bulk carrier, chemical carrier, LNG carrier, car carrier, container and oil tankers to ferry, cruise ship, multi-purpose vessel and offshore platforms. We will select the most relevant yards for the market visit participants in the process of this visiting program.
