A world exposition – with focus on UN Sustainable Development Goals
Expo 2020 Dubai is not just another trade show – but a World Exposition where the world is coming to Dubai to present and showcase technology and knowhow for the future. Expo 2020 Dubai themes are in reference to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The EXPO theme recognises that generating sustainable solutions to global problems demands collaboration across cultures, nations and regions.
Expo 2020 Dubai also represents an opportunity to access distant regions and continents in a cost- and time-effective way.
At least 190 countries have confirmed their participation. Among these, around 80 countries will have their own self-build pavilion, with design and content never seen before. A number of NGOs, major corporations, institutes and academia will have their own exhibition facilities.
The EXPO site is at nearly 5 sqkm, situated between the new Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and The Port of Jebel Ali, and only a 35-40 minutes’ drive from Downtown Dubai and Dubai International Airport (DXB).
