The Norwegian pavilion will be based on the overarching theme of the Ocean. The pavilion itself is designed to resemble a Norwegian ship.
It is designed by the Oslo based architect firm “Rintala Eggertsson Architects” and will have a recycling/reuse percentage as high as 80%.
The content of the pavilion will take you through the Ocean theme and showcase Norwegian technology, innovation and sustainable solutions in an interactive way.
The Norwegian Pavilion is situated close to one of the main entrances of the Expo area – within the opportunity area, next to the Opportunity Pavilion. We expect an average number of visitors to be around 8,000 a day and will have the capacity to arrange VIP events in the pavilion for up to 60 guests. Throughout the expo period a number of thematic events are planned to take place at venues within the EXPO area.
As Prime Minister Erna Solberg expressed it during the launch of Norway's Ocean Strategy on 21st February 2017:
"Our ambition is to be the world's leading ocean nation”.
Norway is a pioneer in technology-based sustainable solutions for the ocean within energy, aquaculture, fisheries, shipping and the maritime sector. We want the world to know what Norway has to offer in terms of innovations, research and applied technologies within these industries.
