In this role, he is responsible for overseeing Data activity and policy as a key priority of Morgan Stanley’s Technology Strategy. His team works across the Firm with business and technology to build a strong foundation for data driven innovation on behalf of the business and clients.
Gez also manages the Algorithmic Trading and Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading (MSET) teams in Europe, a role he has held since 2009. Prior to taking on leadership for the Data CoE, Gez was also the Global Head of FX Technology and ran the MiFID and Brexit Technology programs Firm-wide.
Gez started his career at Morgan Stanley as Associate in the Technology Analyst Program (TAP) in London in 1999, where he joined the Foreign Exchange (FX) Technology team. In 2005, he moved to Hong Kong to oversee FX Technology in Asia. There, he also supported the development of the Shanghai office for Fixed Income.
Gez chairs the Computing-At-School initiative in London, a Morgan Stanley volunteer initiative providing computing education to employees’ local communities. He is also a leader in the Firm’s Diversity for Technology Council in Europe.
Gez holds a BSc in Physics from Manchester and a PhD in Physics from King’s College in London. Gez resides in Kent with wife Rosie and their four children. He is an avid cycler, and co-leads a community rugby club to raise funds for non-profit organizations locally.
