Global Growth - Hydrogen Expertise to Germany

This Global Growth program aims to match Norwegian expertise with hydrogen projects in Germany. We will help your company increase exports by making you better equipped to understand the opportunities and challenges in the market, secure competitiveness and build the required competence to work effectively in the German ecosystem.

Germany aims to take a leading role in the global hydrogen business with a formalised action plan and concrete measures across the entire value chain. The ambitious targets are backed by large amounts of funding. At the current stage national and international industry players are joining forces to build the foundation for a low-carbon energy system in Germany and building up the hydrogen backbone.

Workshop 1 - Projects & Opportunities – Preparatory market orientation & value proposition

7 March 2023 in Kongsberg, Norway

  • Get to know each other, definition of focus area and themes, needs and expectations.
  • Learn about opportunities, obstacles and challenges, tenders, actors, and needs on the German hydrogen market.
  • Participants present their companies’ value propositions and why their expertise benefits the German H2 market.

What outcome to expect

Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of the German H2 market, a valuable network of like-minded partners and clients, identified project opportunities as well as have the insight required to succeed in the German H2 market.

Market visit 1 - Green Energy Hub Wilhelmshaven (tbc)

Tentative: April 2023

  • Participants will attend the project premises, engage in discussions.
  • Company and product presentations.
  • B2B meetings with potential clients and partners.

Online Webinar – Debrief market visit, preparation for upcoming market visit

Market visit 2 – H2 Projects in Bremerhaven & Hamburg (tbc)

Tentative: June 2023

During the visit, participants will attend the project premises, engage in discussions and afterwards, attended B2B meetings with potential clients and partners.

What Outcome to expect

Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of the potential H2 projects, a valuable network of partners and clients, identified project opportunities as well as have the insight required to succeed in the German H2 market.

Participation fee

The participation fee per company is NOK 60 000.

For SMEs participation fee is NOK 30 000.

Innovation Norway defines an SME as being a company with less than 250 employees, and an annual turnover not exceeding EUR 50 million or a balance sheet not exceeding EUR 43 million. If the company does not fulfil both of these criteria it is considered a large enterprise. Also, if a company is owned more than 25 percent by a large enterprise it is not considered an SME.

The program is designed in collaboration between Innovation Norway, H2 Cluster and Kongstein and supported by Team Norway.
