Bli med på en målrettet norsk handelsdelegasjon til Brasils fremvoksende BESS-marked.

Description
  • Proposed dates: Q4 2026 – 31 October to 4 November 2026
  • Locations: São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Format: Market visit for Norwegian companies

Join a targeted Norwegian trade delegation to Brazil's emerging BESS market.

A focused trade delegation for Norwegian companies offering solutions in battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid technology, power conversion, software, engineering services, project development, financing, safety, recycling or lifecycle services. The delegation will position Norwegian expertise ahead of Brazil’s first dedicated BESS capacity reserve auctions and create direct dialogue with public authorities, system operators, utilities, developers, EPC contractors and potential local partners.

Why Brazil, why now?

Brazil is preparing its first national auction dedicated exclusively to BESS under the Capacity Reserve Auction framework. The aim is to strengthen firm capacity, reduce renewable energy curtailment and improve the integration of wind and solar power into the National Interconnected System. The market opportunity is significant: estimates indicate up to 2 GW of contracted capacity, with an investment potential of USD 4 billion.

Who should take part?

  • Norwegian companies offering BESS systems, modules, containers, PCS, inverters, battery management systems or energy management software, as well as battery circularity and second-life applications.
  • Suppliers of grid-forming technology, control systems, forecasting, optimisation, cybersecurity, monitoring and digital grid solutions.
  • Engineering, EPC, advisory, certification, safety, fire protection, testing, and operations and maintenance suppliers.

Programme objectives

  • Gain first-hand insight into Brazil's BESS auction framework, technical requirements and regulatory direction.
  • Organise and facilitate B2B meetings with potential customers, partners, EPC contractors and developers.
  • Connect Norwegian companies with Brazilian decision-makers in government, regulation, system operations, power companies and project development.

Proposed programme

  • Days 1 and 2 – Rio de Janeiro: Brazilian energy planning, system operations and project pipeline

The programme will also include meetings with power companies, federal stakeholders and project developers to discuss market maturity, portfolio development and practical requirements for international suppliers.

  • Days 3 and 4 – São Paulo: Power companies, system operations and project pipeline

The programme continues in São Paulo, with a focus on commercial dialogue and partnership development. The proposed agenda includes meetings with utilities, power producers, transmission companies, renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, integrators, investors and other stakeholders preparing or considering BESS projects.

Optional one-to-one meetings

Participating companies can arrange individual B2B meetings in São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. We can tailor these meetings to your needs, including finding partners, validating customers, developing projects, securing funding, clarifying regulatory requirements or establishing local representation.

Expected Brazilian stakeholders

  • Government authorities and regulatory bodies involved in energy policy, auctions and technical regulations.
  • Utilities, power producers, transmission companies and renewable energy developers preparing BESS projects.
  • EPC companies, integrators, electrical equipment suppliers and local engineering partners.
  • Legal advisers.

Practical information

  • Delegation size: 3–6 Norwegian companies
  • Participation fee: SMEs – NOK 20,000, large companies – NOK 30,000
  • Included: Programme development, contact with stakeholders, joint meetings, B2B matchmaking, selected local transport and practical arrangements.
