Norwegian solutions gaining momentum

With more than 30 years of experience, the Norwegian government's major commitment to offshore wind and the first allocation of areas for offshore wind production in the North Sea in 2024, Norway is well positioned to compete in one of the world's most mature offshore wind markets.
'The North Sea basin is Norway's home ground for offshore wind. We will be a major player in the years ahead,' says Erik Rindvoll, Special Adviser for Offshore Wind at our office in Denmark.
The basin Rindvoll refers to is an area of the North Sea that will play an important role in the future development of offshore wind power. The Norwegian authorities have designated Sørlige Nordsjø II as one of the areas for development.

Huge growth potential for Norwegian businesses
Norway is a pioneer in floating offshore wind, with leading projects such as Hywind Scotland and Hywind Tampen. Through the Marine Energy Test Centre (METCentre), Norway has also pioneered the testing of the world's first floating wind turbines. Innovations from Norwegian companies, spanning everything from cable installation to sensor systems, offer enormous growth potential.
«The quality, expertise and innovation that Norway brings to the table will benefit the entire basin.»
Norway is known as a reliable partner worldwide. The Ostend Declaration, signed by energy ministers from several European countries, shows how Norwegian companies and public authorities are working together to strengthen the offshore wind industry in the North Sea. The goal is to deliver at least 3 gigawatts of offshore wind power by 2030, with ambitions to facilitate 30 gigawatts by 2040.
