Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre launched the initiative at Rebel in Oslo. Offshore wind, green maritime and the health industry have previously been launched as export initiatives under the 'All of Norway Exports' umbrella.

Norwegian manufacturing and design encompasses everything from wine glasses, fireplaces, textiles, furniture, and leisure and sports equipment for consumers to machinery, 3D printers, car bumpers, and composite products. The industry also manufactures parts for the defence industry, maritime and marine industries, and renewable energy production, as well as advanced components and high-tech solutions used in other industrial products.

'Export initiatives are about creating value in Norway. Companies in manufacturing and design create significant value and are well placed to compete internationally. For example, five of the ten nominees for this year's Export Award are manufacturers,' says our CEO, Håkon Haugli.

The five nominated manufacturing companies are Db Equipment, Brunvoll, Hexagon Ragasco, Tomra and Barel. Read more about the Export Award.

We have a long track record of working on exciting projects in design and manufacturing, and offer a range of services to help accelerate them.

In addition to our general loans and grants, we offer business networks, advisory services, grants for trade fair participation, digital courses and a range of initiatives to strengthen your market position. One example is the recently launched 'Made in Norway', a national labelling scheme that serves as a mark of quality for Norwegian-made products.

We work with many of the projects over time, from startup and scaling to international expansion.

Our offices in the US, Germany, Italy, the UK, Denmark, China and Japan have long supported the design industry, working with Team Norway and the Norwegian embassies.
