Eviny has worked with us for several years, both through our regional office in Vestland and our offices in several European countries. Eviny is now entering into a separate framework agreement with our office in Brussels, the EU capital.

‘Eviny has a “100 in 10” goal. This means that over the next ten years, we will invest the value we have built up over our hundred-year history. This includes more power generation and grid capacity, and we will continue to develop electrification solutions that reduce emissions. The expertise and technological solutions we develop every day provide the foundation for our initiatives in Europe. And in Europe, Innovation Norway is a natural partner,’ says Ragnhild Janbu Fresvik, CEO of Eviny.

‘In Europe, there is a significant need to expand charging infrastructure and provide shore power for ships. We can draw on our expertise and experience from Norway to build the infrastructure Europe needs. Given the growth we are seeing in Norway, it makes sense for us to invest heavily in Europe,’ says Fresvik.

Eviny is one of Norway's largest energy and technology groups. We produce and distribute renewable energy from hydropower and wind power, own one of Norway's largest grid companies, BKK, and lead the way in several areas of electrification and renewable energy technology.

Eviny provides rapid charging for electric vehicles to more than half a million customers in Norway – and is growing rapidly in Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Through its subsidiary Plug, Eviny is also a global leader in developing shore power for ports, with the Port of Bergen now one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world. The company recently commissioned its first international shore power facility in Montrose, Scotland, and is seeing strong interest from several countries seeking emission-free ports.

Gateway to Europe

Under the framework agreement with Eviny, we will regularly provide services related to market insights, advisory and networking in European markets.

‘Our Brussels office connects Norwegian businesses with the complex EU system,’ says Håkon Haugli, CEO of Innovation Norway.

We do not seek to influence EU regulations ourselves, but we can enable Norwegian companies to influence decision-makers.

‘Every day, we help a wide range of Norwegian companies understand and navigate EU regulations and European markets. Eviny is a strong example of how we deliver tangible value to Norwegian exporters,’ says Hans Eirik Melandsø, Head of Department at our Brussels office. The EU shapes many of the key framework conditions for Norwegian businesses through climate targets, regulations and major industrial initiatives – which also create market opportunities.

‘We help Norwegian companies get ahead of the curve and identify commercial opportunities across Europe. We will do the same for Eviny,’ says Melandsø.
