Jotun wins the 2024 Export Award. Zivid is Newcomer of the Year

Jotun, winner of the 2024 Export Award, has generated substantial revenue in Norway through its operations in international markets
Since 1926, Jotun has been a company that has helped shape Norway. For almost a century, Jotun has protected ships, steel structures, iconic buildings and private homes around the world. From its origins in Sandefjord, the company has built a global network of more than 10,000 employees and 67 companies across 47 countries.
Jotun employs more than 1,000 people in Norway, while a large share of its revenue comes from operations abroad.
Protecting assets through innovative and time-honoured solutions
The jury is particularly impressed by Jotun's global expertise network and the company's ability to compete in both consumer and industrial markets. The jury also highlights innovative solutions such as Jotun HullSkating Solutions, an automated robot that removes barnacles and biofouling from ships' hulls.
'Jotun is an international market leader, supplying an export product trusted by industries and households worldwide. I am impressed by Jotun's export success and its strong capacity for innovation and renewal. I would like to congratulate Jotun on nearly 100 years of innovation and market success,' says Tone Lunde Bakker, CEO of Eksfin, on behalf of the jury.
'Jotun is one of Norway's strongest brands and an inspiring example of the value a company can create when it is based in Norway and serves markets worldwide,' says our CEO, Håkon Haugli.
Newcomer of the Year Zivid wins major international customers with its high-tech solutions
Zivid was founded in 2015 as a spin-off from SINTEF and is now an established supplier of industrial 3D machine vision cameras and software for industrial robotics. Its cameras are used in automated manufacturing, warehouse automation and logistics. Exports account for an impressive 98 per cent of Zivid's sales.
'Despite being a young company, Zivid has secured major international customers with its high-tech products. Norway has not traditionally excelled at commercialising research, but Zivid shows the enormous potential we can unlock when we succeed. We congratulate the company and look forward to continuing our work together in Norway and internationally,' says Håkon Haugli, our CEO.
