We are organising a business delegation to Brazil from 21 to 23 October, led by Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth. The delegation is aimed at companies working in green maritime industries, emissions-reduction technologies, oil and gas, green industry and the bioeconomy.

If your company operates in one of these sectors, we encourage you to register or get in touch.

The business delegation to Brazil will include seminars, networking, events and company visits. The delegation offers your company an excellent opportunity to build new networks or explore a new market. With more than 200 million inhabitants, Brazil is home to almost half of South America's population, making it a vast market.

Brazil's needs

Brazil needs a greener shipping fleet and port technology to support it. Norwegian companies working with battery-hybrid vessels, electric port infrastructure and other solutions that help reduce CO2 emissions from shipping and offshore operations could find promising opportunities in the Brazilian market.

Carbon capture and storage has been identified as a priority in Brazil's energy transition, and Norway is at the forefront of this technology with our full-scale Longship pilot project. Brazil needs significant emissions reductions in both heavy industry and the oil and gas sector.

Hydrogen and ammonia will also play an important role in decarbonising Brazilian industry.

Bioenergy is also an important sector in Brazil. Most of the country's vehicle fleet uses so-called flex-fuel engines, which can run on 100% ethanol. Biogas also has significant potential in Brazil.
