The delighted winner received the award on Thursday, 30 October:

‘We are surprised and delighted that our work and ambitions have been noticed and recognised. Developing an organic, circular concept on a small 49-decare farm, while also making it profitable, takes a great deal of hard work, joy and sweat. It means a lot to us to be recognised and appreciated by the local community,’ say Anna and Kristian Green-Hultgren, who own and run the farm.

The jury highlights the company’s holistic commitment to economic, social and environmental sustainability, and recognises Norheim Farm as a role model for the future of circular agriculture in Nordland.

Norheim Farm operates according to organic principles and is certified as an Eco-Lighthouse and has achieved Debio Gold certification for both agricultural production and processing. The farm makes use of the entire value chain, from fruit, berries and flowers to non-alcoholic drinks and wine. In this way, the team helps develop local producers and suppliers in the region. Our Regional Director for Nordland, Monica Ahyee, is impressed by what the team at Norheim Farm has achieved:

– Norheim Farm represents modern, forward-looking agriculture, where economic sustainability goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility and social value creation. Through its work on circular solutions and collaboration across the value chain, the farm shows how small-scale producers can contribute to the green transition and make Norwegian food production more resilient. Norheim Farm is an inspiring example of sustainable innovation in practice, says Monica Ahyee, our Regional Director in Nordland.

Through its focused work on circularity and collaboration, Norheim Farm has created a profitable and inspiring example of how sustainability can become a business model. The company donates 20 per cent of its profits to environmental and knowledge projects and actively helps strengthen local agriculture through the LoVe Foods network.

The jury also highlights how Norheim Farm demonstrates that financial viability and sustainability go hand in hand. The farm combines innovation, responsibility and a culture of sharing in a way that strengthens both the local community and the future of farming. The jury believes it is an inspiring example of how small-scale operations can make a big impact.
