The business delegation is taking place in connection with Crown Prince Haakon's official visit to the United States from 6 to 9 October to mark the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration to the United States.

Crown Prince Haakon was greeted by Norwegian flags and Norwegian Americans of all ages wearing traditional Norwegian dress outside Norway House in Minneapolis.

Crown Prince Haakon opened the business programme together with the head of the delegation, Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth. We organised the programme and invited Norwegian and American companies, focusing on how Norwegian companies can provide innovative solutions to meet current and future needs in the healthcare and defence industries.

Nearly 200 companies are taking part in the business events in Minneapolis and New York, half of them Norwegian.

In Minneapolis, Storm Adapt Group signed an agreement with General Motors Defense, while Dossier Solutions signed an agreement with Mayo Clinic.

'Norwegian companies are at the forefront of health technology and have long been key suppliers of technology to the US defence sector. A visit like this, led by Crown Prince Haakon and Minister of Trade and Industry Myrseth, will further boost exports and Norwegian-American cooperation both within and beyond these sectors,' says our CEO, Håkon Haugli.

Defence

The Norwegian company Storm Adapt Group develops and manufactures equipment and solutions for military vehicles, among other applications. Its technology and modules are fitted to vehicles, making it possible to change a vehicle's function quickly without rebuilding it. Applications range from surveillance to medical support.

In Minneapolis, the company signed an agreement with General Motors Defense to supply components for the US automotive giant's off-road vehicles.

'STORM is proud to partner with GM Defense. This collaboration opens up unique global opportunities to deliver our modular mission systems to defence customers around the world,' says Andreas Rist, EVP & Founder of Storm Adapt Group.

Health

Health technology company Dossier Solutions signed an agreement with Mayo Clinic, named the 'world's best hospital'. Dossier Solutions is a Norwegian health technology company that develops a digital platform for competence management in the healthcare sector. Hospitals and healthcare organisations use it to keep track of employees' skills, plan training, and ensure quality and patient safety.

The agreement with Mayo Clinic Education allows Dossier to include Mayo's training content in its learning portal.

'Mayo Clinic's TSAM is a recognised and sought-after training framework with proven results, and is already used by Dossier's customers. This partnership puts us in an even stronger position to help hospitals in the US and internationally improve quality and make better use of resources,' says Geir Arnhoff, CEO of Dossier.

Mayo Clinic is a highly respected hospital and research centre in the United States. The clinic provides advanced medical care and plays a leading role in medical research and education. Mayo Clinic employs approximately 83,000 people and is the largest employer in the state of Minnesota.

On Thursday, the delegation will take part in a business programme in New York.
