Norwegian companies want to contribute in Ukraine

Minister of Energy Terje Aasland opened the Norwegian pavilion at Rebuild Ukraine in Warsaw today, where we are joined by 26 Norwegian companies that want to help rebuild Ukraine.
Rebuild Ukraine is an important meeting place where Norwegian companies can connect with Ukrainian authorities and businesses, build networks and explore how Norwegian solutions and companies can contribute.
'Ukraine needs support both to rebuild and to keep society functioning, even during the war. Reconstruction is already under way and must continue to strengthen Ukraine's resilience,' says our CEO, Håkon Haugli.
Projects
The companies joining us in Warsaw are primarily from the construction, energy, technology and infrastructure sectors.
'Ukraine will become Europe’s, and perhaps the world’s, largest construction site. Norwegian companies can help rebuild Ukraine as part of Europe’s future. If you want to take part in the reconstruction, you need to position yourself now,' says Haugli.
Several Norwegian companies already have projects under way in Ukraine. Technology and consulting company Itera has had a presence in Ukraine for many years and has also connected Norwegian companies with Ukrainian partners.
Several Norwegian companies are signing agreements with Ukrainian partners at the trade fair in Warsaw.
One of them is Emergy, which will build and operate a wind farm in Kovel in north-western Ukraine. Ukraine needs energy systems that generate and store energy close to consumers, rather than a centralised system where large power plants generate energy and distribute it over long distances, making it more vulnerable to threats including Russian attacks.
Tschudi Logistics and a terminal developer signed an agreement with the Kovel municipal administration to streamline border crossings and customs clearance for goods transported by rail into and out of Ukraine.
Construction project developer NOCON, in alliance with Sintef, will carry out a pilot project with partners across Ukraine to recycle and reuse construction waste. They have also signed an agreement to develop a concept and build schools with Ukrainian partners.
Moelven Byggmodul is signing an agreement with the Ukrainian authorities in Warsaw to meet the housing needs of the 6.5 million internally displaced people.
Collaboration
We work on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and collaborate closely with the Norwegian Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), the Norwegian Foreign Service and the other Team Norway partners.
'We see how important this collaboration is in helping Norwegian companies succeed in a challenging market,' says Haugli.
