Pål T. Næss from Gelato to head our New York office

Pål T. Næss co-founded Gelato, which achieved a valuation of one billion dollars while still privately held, making it a so-called unicorn.
He now looks forward to leading our New York office.
‘This is going to be incredibly exciting. For many Norwegian companies, New York is the gateway to the US market, as well as one of the world’s key hubs for capital, expertise and international networks. I look forward to drawing on my experience at Gelato and as an international leader to help more Norwegian companies succeed in the US,’ says Pål T. Næss.
Næss has also previously worked with us as head of our Canada office and Director of Start-ups and Entrepreneurship.
‘We are delighted to welcome Pål back to our team. The US can be a challenging market at present due to constantly changing tariff conditions. Even so, it is a vast market where many Norwegian companies succeed, and it is important to emphasise that tariffs only affect trade in goods, not exports of services. Trade and investment will also benefit from all the positive attention Norway has received through this summer’s FIFA World Cup in the US,’ says Eva Camerer, our EVP for Trade and Invest.
In the US, we work extensively with companies in sectors including energy, technology, healthcare and manufacturing.
Our international offices help Norwegian companies succeed in global markets by providing market insights, networks, introductions to partners and customers, and advisory services.
Business leaders at export offices
‘Commercial experience and acumen are important in this role,’ says Eva Camerer, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Trade and Invest at Innovation Norway.
Several other business leaders are also set to head our offices abroad.
In Vietnam, Morten Langsholdt will take up his new role as EVP on 1 August. Langsholdt has held leadership roles in renewable energy, hydrogen and international market development at OX2, Hydro Havrand and Scatec. He brings extensive experience in strategy, business development and commercial growth across international markets.
In France, Janne T. Morstøl has been appointed EVP of our Paris office. She has experience scaling several companies internationally, including the health technology company Bliksund.
Karin Greve-Isdahl is our new Country Director in Spain. Until this summer, she headed our office in Vietnam. Greve-Isdahl's previous experience includes roles at Opera and on Storebrand's executive management team.
Gaute Andersen Tosterud will now lead our office in Japan. He joins us from his role as an internationalisation adviser at our Eastern Norway office.
‘When Norwegian companies are looking to succeed with international growth and exports, it is vital that our people on the ground understand business and have first-hand experience. We are proud that so many talented people want to work for us,’ says Camerer.
