Development grant for Finnmark

The scheme is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises. Large companies may also receive funding for projects that are particularly important to local and regional business and community development.
You must carry out the project and its activities in one of the municipalities in Finnmark (this service does not cover Alta or Hammerfest). The project must benefit businesses in the region. Projects must contribute to:
- increased value creation
- employment
- restructuring
- local and regional business development
The development grant for Finnmark aims to support local and regional business development. When assessing applications, we will emphasise the projects' importance to local communities. We established this service partly in response to the sanctions against Russia.
The projects we support must help increase business activity and value creation in all municipalities in Finnmark, except Alta and Hammerfest.
You can receive grants for business development and physical investments.
Business development may include a project involving an initial strategy process and related competence building, training initiatives, development activities and testing, as well as the implementation of a new production process, organisational model or business model.
You can also receive grants for investments related to starting a new business, expanding capacity in an existing business, diversifying production into new products or services, or fundamentally changing the production process in an existing business.
We have notified ESA (the EFTA Surveillance Authority) of the scheme under the following articles of the General Block Exemption Regulation: 14, 17, 18, 19, 22, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 36, 38, 38a, 41, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 53.
