If your registration is approved, you will receive a range of resources to help you use the origin label in your own marketing, including templates and images.

Criteria for different product areas

Different products and solutions have different requirements for documenting their Norwegian origin. We have therefore developed the criteria in collaboration with Norwegian businesses to ensure they are rigorous yet achievable.

Please make sure your business meets the criteria for your product category before completing the registration.

Examples: Food, beverages, dietary supplements

  • At least 80 per cent of the finished product's weight must be of Norwegian origin.
  • A key part of the production process that gives the product its distinctive character must take place in Norway.

Examples: Chairs, tablets, sensor technology

  • At least 60 per cent of the production and raw material costs must be of Norwegian origin.
  • A key part of the production process that gives the product its distinctive character must take place in Norway.

Examples: Software, digital solutions

  • At least 60 per cent of the costs of developing and delivering the service must originate in Norway.

Terms of use

To gain the right to use the Made in Norway label, your company must accept the licence terms and pay a registration and licence fee.

The registration fee is a one-off cost of NOK 15,000 and will be invoiced once your right to use the mark has been approved.

The licence fee is paid annually in arrears. We calculate it based on your total turnover over the past 12 months for the specific products and solutions that have been awarded the Made in Norway label. If you choose to use the label for selected products or in selected markets, we only include turnover from those products and markets in the calculation.

  • Up to NOK 5 million: NOK 7,500 per year
  • NOK 5–15 million: NOK 15,000 per year
  • NOK 15–30 million: NOK 30,000 per year
  • NOK 30–50 million: NOK 45,000 per year
  • NOK 50–100 million: NOK 60,000 per year
  • Over NOK 100 million: NOK 75,000 per year

In the next step, you will be asked to log in with BankID to access the form. The person completing the form must have an authorised role in Altinn linked to the company.
