Moskvil grain and seed cleaning plant wins agricultural award in Vestfold

The award winners say they are proud to receive the award for Vestfold in 2024:
'We are very proud to win this award,' says farm owner and award winner Hans Olav Moskvil.
«This is an award that means a great deal to us, and we have always looked up to those who have received it.»
The family-run farm in Nykirke has a diverse range of agricultural activities and employs three generations of the Moskvil family: both Hans Olav's father and his daughters play an active role in the business. Moskvil's farming operations include producing eggs for Nortura with 7,500 hens, growing grain and seed crops, and cleaning grain and seed for other farmers at its processing facility. The farm also grows strawberries.
New cleaning machine
In 2023, Moskvil Gård invested in a new optical sorting machine to handle demanding grain-cleaning tasks. The investment enables small-scale and local farmers to continue producing rye, confident that the grain can be cleaned in Norway.
«Moskvil grain and seed cleaning plant helps both its own business and other producers grow crops more sustainably and reliably, says our Regional Director for Vestfold and Telemark.»
'With a 100-year history, the company shows how a traditional farming business can adapt to the markets and regulations of today and tomorrow through innovation and the development of its business model, production line and, not least, technology. We at Innovation Norway Vestfold and Telemark are cheering Moskvil on and wish them the best of luck in the next stage of the competition,' she says.
The award winners say they see themselves as a forward-looking company, and that the investment reflects this: 'It is particularly special to receive the Business Development Award this year, as it marks the start of the processing plant's centenary celebrations.'
'We see ourselves as forward-looking. We enjoy doing things differently and find it hard to pass up untested opportunities,' says Hans Olav Moskvil.
