Norwegian quality builds trust internationally

The Made in Norway label has become a strong symbol of Norwegian quality, sustainability and craftsmanship. For Moelven Byggmodul, Stoneart and Forestia, the country-of-origin label is more than just a mark – it is a strategic investment that increases their visibility, strengthens their brands and opens doors to new markets.
Since the country-of-origin label was launched last year, a growing number of proudly Norwegian products and solutions have adopted it. The scheme is part of the Norwegian Government's 'All of Norway Exports' initiative, which aims to increase Norwegian exports excluding oil and gas by 50 per cent by 2030.
The original initiative to launch a national country-of-origin label came from the business community itself, with the aim of harnessing the positive associations Norway enjoys internationally.
Norwegian-made modules since the 1950s
Moelven Byggmodul produces timber modules for modern, sustainable buildings with short construction times. Since the 1950s, the company has supplied modular buildings for schools, nurseries, offices, hotels, student accommodation, canteens and site facilities for the construction and civil engineering industry.
'By highlighting our Norwegian roots, we strengthen our position as a responsible, quality-conscious supplier of modular buildings in both the Norwegian and European markets,' says Jørn Eirik Erlund, Sales and Marketing Director at Moelven Byggmodul.

Moelven Byggmodul sees the Made in Norway label as an important competitive advantage. By earning and using the country-of-origin label, the company strengthens its position as a leading provider of sustainable building solutions in Norway and Europe.
«The Made in Norway label clearly sets us apart in an increasingly competitive market and helps us build trust with both Norwegian and international customers.»
Norwegian timber becomes world-class building materials
For more than 70 years, Forestia has developed high-quality building materials from locally sourced Norwegian timber, producing particleboard for furniture, construction and interiors.
«We are proud to use 100% Norwegian raw materials in our production. At the same time, we make a significant contribution to Norwegian industry and jobs.»
With Made in Norway, the company aims to strengthen its position both at home and internationally. Today, a large share of its products is exported to Sweden, Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands, and its ambitions go even further.
'The mark of origin signals reliable quality, sustainability and Norwegian craftsmanship – values that make us attractive in an increasingly discerning European market,' says Kristian Hanssen, CEO of Forestia.

The story of Norwegian slate and craftsmanship
Norwegian slate is an exclusive and finite resource, formed over hundreds of millions of years. Stoneart specialises in transforming these unique natural materials into bespoke products with distinctive character and timeless elegance.
'Our customers want products that are exclusive, unique and sustainable,' says Gjertine Pollestad, Sales Director at Stonear.

With the Made in Norway label, Stoneart aims to bring Norwegian slate to international markets. The label makes it easier to share the story of Norwegian slate, its craftsmanship and sustainable values with a global audience.
«This is a mark of quality that opens doors and builds trust. It is not just about products, but about telling a story – one of nature, tradition and Norwegian craftsmanship.»
Made in Norway – a powerful symbol
For all three companies, Made in Norway is more than a mark of origin. It is a strategic tool that strengthens their brands, sets them apart from the competition and makes it easier to succeed internationally.

The label represents values such as quality, sustainability and reliability, signalling to customers worldwide that the products have been developed with respect for both tradition and the environment.
«By highlighting your Norwegian origin, you can stand out, strengthen your competitiveness and potentially create greater value. The Made in Norway country-of-origin label says a lot with very little.»
