Through its 'Trace' platform, the Ålesund-based company provides an order, warehouse and transport management system that gives full control and traceability throughout the entire journey of goods. Its portfolio also includes the 'Sort' and 'Grab' robots, which handle pallets and pick goods in the warehouse, respectively.

Solwr counts several major retail companies among its customers and plans to continue growing in Norway while scaling internationally.

'We are ready for the next step and are working on several projects in Norway and abroad involving our ERP platform and robots,' says Torbjørn Krogen, CEO of Solwr.

ERP stands for enterprise resource planning and refers to software that supports a company's production, inventory, logistics, sales, purchasing and financial management.

Solwr is pursuing its international ambitions in close collaboration with us. The company is taking part in the 'Global Gateway' export development programme and has attended a workshop on international market development. It is also in dialogue with our offices in Sweden and Germany.

As the company plans to establish a presence in Germany, our offices in Hamburg and Munich conducted a survey of the German market in spring 2022 to help Solwr position itself effectively based on the market potential of each product.

'In addition to providing valuable support and advisory services for our international expansion, Innovation Norway is an important source of funding and loans for the company's growth,' Krogen emphasises.

United under the Solwr brand

Driw was established 40 years ago and has provided logistics solutions to the retail sector ever since. In recent years, the company has invested significantly in product development, resulting in a modern ERP platform that supports scaling and international expansion.

Currence Robotics was established in 2016 to develop robots that streamline warehouse operations, helping retailers reduce costs. As both companies served the same industry and offered solutions that worked well together, joining forces as Solwr in spring 2022 was a natural step.

'We chose this structure to present a clearer profile in the market while retaining synergies in expertise, technology and finance,' says Fredrik Kallevig, CCO at Solwr.

Ambitions for growth and international recognition

The company has around one hundred employees across offices in Ålesund, Oslo and Trondheim.
It has ambitious plans for further growth, aiming to become a prominent and internationally recognised LogTech company in the years ahead. We are an important partner on this journey.

Our Senior Adviser in Møre og Romsdal, Ingvill Stene Kjerstad, says the project's high level of innovation and technical risk are key reasons why we support it.

'The company will offer customers a complete, flexible and traceable journey for their goods on a new platform. It uses machine learning to optimise, predict and develop new services, enabling you, for example, to report your environmental footprint,' Kjerstad explains.
