A total of 33 companies applied to take part in the new export programme, which will provide capital and expertise to help them scale and bring their technology solution or service to a wider market. Creative Technology Abroad (KUV) is part of the Norwegian Government's initiative for the cultural and creative industries and has been commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and Equality.

'We are delighted to announce the companies that secured a place in the export programme for the creative industries. The calibre of applicants was high this year, reflecting the potential of the creative industries. Business models with a strong focus on sustainability stood out, and several of the 14 companies focus on reuse, repurposing, repair and transactions through technological solutions,' says Margit Klingen Daams, Head of Creative Industries at Innovation Norway.

The programme is aimed at Norwegian technology companies developing technological solutions and digital services for the creation, production, promotion, sale or distribution of artistic, cultural and creative content. This is the second time we have run a programme for this target group.

'Norway and the Nordic region have been global leaders in the use of new technology and digital services for many years, and we intend to remain so. This programme creates more opportunities and a larger market for creative technology and digital solutions, and I am confident that Norwegian technology companies will make their mark,' says Minister of Culture and Equality Anette Trettebergstuen.

The following companies have been selected for the programme:

'We look forward to the first session and to supporting these companies over time, as the programme model is designed to do. We find that the tailored model, which provides capital and expertise over time, is invaluable to the companies,' says Margit Klingen Daams, our Head of Creative Industries.

This is our sixth export programme for the creative industries. It will build on our experience from previous programmes for this target group: Games Go Global, Architecture Goes Global, Literature Goes Global, Music Goes Global and Creative Technology Goes Global.

We launched an open call for the programme on 27 February 2023. Our representatives and two external subject-matter experts assessed the applications. The programme has a budget of NOK 17 million.
