Norway to be partner country at Hannover Messe 2024

Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry, Jan Christian Vestre, had the pleasure of announcing the news today at a ceremony in Berlin, alongside Germany's Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Dr Robert Habeck, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Messe AG, Jochen Köckler, and our CEO, Håkon Haugli. Haugli looks forward to the new assignment:
'We look forward to continuing our work to secure strong participation from Norwegian businesses at Hannover Messe in 2024, on behalf of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries,' he says.
He believes this presents significant opportunities for Norwegian businesses:
- Norway's new status as a partner country gives Norwegian businesses a unique opportunity to showcase their leading solutions and technologies. Norway has much to offer in areas such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, battery production, charging technology, the process industries and digital infrastructure.
The world's leading industrial trade fair
HANNOVER MESSE is the world's leading industrial trade fair and takes place in Hanover, Germany, from 22 to 26 April 2024. As the partner country, Norway will play a highly visible role, with its participation united under the shared message 'NORWAY 2024: Pioneering the green industrial transition'.
Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre is looking forward to next year's trade fair:
'We are proud to have been selected as the partner country for next year's Hannover Messe, and I am confident that it will provide an excellent showcase. Our highly skilled workforce and advanced industrial and energy sectors make us a natural partner in the green transition,' he says in a press release published on the Norwegian Government's website.
Next year, the trade fair will focus on the latest developments in climate, digitalisation and sustainability. This year, 4,000 exhibitors took part, and the event attracted more than 130,000 visitors.
'Norway's contribution to the development of green industry is impressive, and Hannover Messe will be the perfect platform for showcasing this to a global audience,' says Dr Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe AG, which organises the trade fair.
