Frequently asked questions and answers about agriculture
Frequently asked questions
Funding is more limited in 2026, and priorities may vary between regions. Find out which priorities apply in your region and whether you can apply for funding.
Regional priorities for agricultural funding
Not sure whether your project falls within the priorities? Start an application and open a dialogue with an agricultural adviser directly in the application form.
As an agricultural customer, you should submit almost all types of applications as a private individual. However, you must first link a sole proprietorship (ENK) to your profile before you can access the application form. If you have a limited company (AS), you can apply through the company and do not need to apply as a private individual.
How to apply as an individual:
1. Log in to My page with BankID
2. Click 'Add company' and enter the name or organisation number of your sole proprietorship
3. Confirm your contact details
4. Once you have added your sole proprietorship, continue by selecting yourself as a private individual
5. Find the ‘Start application’ button in the grey box on the right-hand side of the page
How to do this for a limited company:
1. Log in to My page using BankID
2. Click ‘Add company’ and enter the name or organisation number of your limited company
3. Confirm your contact details
4. Once you have added your limited company, select it as the applicant
5. Find the ‘Start application’ button in the grey box on the right-hand side of the page
If you are unsure which application type to choose, you can find guidance on our grants information page here:
To get in touch with one of our agricultural advisers, start an agricultural funding application. In the application, select the 'Talk to an adviser' button to send us a message and ask for guidance before submitting your application.
If you have not yet set up a sole proprietorship or limited company, you can log in and get feedback through 'One Way In' – a digital gateway to support from all relevant public-sector organisations in Norway.
To apply for a grant for generational transfer, you must be under 35. This means you need to submit your application before your 35th birthday.
What types of investments can be covered?
The grant only covers long-term investments and permanently installed equipment. It does not cover movable assets such as tractors, mowers and similar equipment.
What do I need to have in place before I apply?
You must have a sole proprietorship (ENK) or limited company (AS) to create and submit an application. You do not need to have taken over the farm before submitting your application, but you must have a purchase agreement in place. We will not pay the grant until the transfer of the farm has been confirmed (registered in the Land Register).
Here are some of the documents you will be asked to include with your application:
- KSL (Quality System in Agriculture)
- DVP (Animal Welfare Programme) if you are affiliated with such a programme
- Business income statements for the past two years
- Operating plan, when you plan to carry out a project where the investment will increase or change income and costs.
Can I apply for the grant now, before I turn 35, even if I will not take over the farm for several years?
No. First, you must have a registered business. You must complete approved projects within three years. We will not pay the grant until ownership of the farm has been transferred to you.
Can I use the grant to cover part of the work involved in an investment, and then apply for another grant to cover the remaining work?
Generational transition funding is only available for small, essential measures needed to maintain production during the transition from the previous generation to the next. The grant is intended for the first investment or investments required on the property.
Yes, we have a completion certificate template, which you can find here: Final approval.
Yes, you can find the timesheet template here: Timesheet for your own work on the project
You can check the following before contacting us:
- Are you logged in under the correct entity? If you cannot find your application, you may be logged in under the wrong entity. You can double-check this in the top-right corner when you are logged in to My Page. Most agricultural customers should log in as themselves, as a private individual.
- Which browser are you using? Switching browsers often resolves many technical issues. We recommend trying Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Please send a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing to kundesupport@innovasjonnorge.no so we can identify the problem more easily. If you have a reference number, please include it in the email.
To request payment, you must log in under the correct entity. If you received the grant or loan as a private individual, make sure you select yourself as the entity. You cannot give anyone else access to request payment.
Once you have logged in under the correct account, go to the Online banking tab. Under Account overview, you can see all grants and loans linked to this account. If the grant or loan is ready for payment, you will see the 'Start payment' button.
If you see ‘payment unavailable’, check whether you have any tasks under ‘Online banking’ and then ‘Case management’. You must complete these tasks before payment becomes available. Contact our customer service centre if you do not have any tasks there.
