Green Platform

Who can submit an outline?

Green Platform is primarily aimed at Norwegian companies and research institutes. Other types of organisations and enterprises operating in Norway may also submit an outline, provided they have a Norwegian organisation number. However, only Norwegian companies or research institutes may submit an application to the main call. Sole proprietorships may not submit an outline or application.

Who can take part?

The Green Platform is open to all technology areas, industries and sectors. Businesses, research institutes, public-sector bodies and other organisations can all participate as partners in a Green Platform project. Public-sector bodies can take part in consortia and help enable projects through measures such as infrastructure, procurement, and the development and adaptation of regulations.

Green Platform projects are characterised by ambitions to:

• address key challenges and issues that will accelerate the green transition in business and industry, with a high degree of innovation that challenges established solutions, value chains and markets
• deliver lasting value creation and increased competitiveness for partners through new solutions that can be shared and scaled both nationally and internationally
• reduce greenhouse gas emissions and preserve or improve biodiversity and the environment
• deliver significant wider benefits that contribute directly to positive impacts on society
• build strong value chains that require risk sharing and broad collaboration across disciplines, technology areas, centres of expertise, industries and sectors
• carry out activities ranging from research and technology development, through testing and verification to implementation, scaling and commercialisation
• carry out a project that involves greater risk than projects usually covered by other funding schemes

The Green Platform is a joint initiative commissioned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and delivered by the Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway and Siva. The scheme aims to accelerate the green transition in existing businesses and lay the foundations for new sustainable industries and green value chains. It will also help create a balanced portfolio of transition projects involving a broad range of sectors and industries across the Norwegian economy.

This transition is essential both to meet Norway's environmental and climate commitments and as a strategic opportunity for Norwegian businesses to strengthen their competitiveness, build resilient value chains and secure long-term profitability.

First, submit the mandatory outline by the outline deadline. You can then apply to the main call by the application deadline.

We will reject applications for the main call that are not based on at least one outline.
