Investments in farm heating systems

Farmers with a concession-regulated property in active operation, or smaller properties that receive grants for agricultural production. The farm's buildings or production activities have significant energy needs related to agricultural operations.

Investments in

• energy centre and distribution network on the farm
• fuel storage for up to one year's fuel consumption
• heat-emitting units in the farm buildings
• bio-oil boiler for grain drying combined with a solid biofuel system
• heat pumps (liquid-based), heat recovery systems where the base load is supplied by renewable energy
• solar installations – only if linked to new concepts and/or solutions
• heating systems for farmhouses

The farm energy system and its associated network can supply energy solely to the farm, or to nearby buildings on or connected to the agricultural property.

You must install an energy meter, and the property must generate taxable turnover. The installation must be sufficiently profitable after the investment. You must document the energy requirement.

We do not provide grants for fuel production equipment, transport equipment or used equipment.

You can receive funding for up to 35 per cent of approved costs, with a maximum of NOK 1.5 million.

1. Complete and submit your application

You can find the agricultural application form by logging in to 'My page' with BankID. We will ask you to provide the information and documentation we need to assess your project. In the application, you can use the 'Talk to an adviser' button to ask for guidance before submitting it. Remember that you must submit your application before starting the project.

2. Assessment

We process applications on an ongoing basis, and several people assess each application. Our guidelines and regional priorities determine which projects we can fund. We receive many applications and have limited funds, so we cannot approve every application.

3. Decision

Your account manager presents your application to the decision-maker. Once we have made a decision, we will notify you by email, and you can find the decision on My page. If we offer you funding, make sure you understand the terms and how we will disburse the funds.
