Grants for heat supply facilities
Farmers and forest owners.
At least 50 per cent of the heating plant must be owned by agricultural property owners.
Investments in
- boiler houses
- new heating system, maximum output 6 MW
- fuel storage for up to one year's consumption
- heat distribution
- backup solutions
You can include costs for planning, design and building permits if these were not included in an earlier feasibility study or preliminary project.
You must report the annual heat supply for up to five years.
We do not support
- equipment and installation in the heat customer's buildings beyond the heat exchanger and meter
- equipment for fuel production
- transport equipment
You can receive funding for a feasibility study that may lead to a heat sales facility of a size and type eligible for investment grants under the programme.
Preliminary project and establishment:
You may receive funding for a preliminary project if a feasibility study shows that a bioenergy heating plant can be established. The preliminary project covers activities related to establishing a bioenergy heating plant, such as
- preparation of tender documents
- entering into agreements
- design work related to the facility
Requirements for applicants for feasibility studies and establishment:
- Individuals or businesses intending to establish their own heating facilities.
- You must meet the programme's criteria.
You can receive funding for up to 45 per cent of approved costs, capped at NOK 10 million.
You can receive a grant covering up to 50 per cent of external costs, with a maximum of NOK 50,000 for preliminary studies and NOK 150,000 for pre-projects.
1. Complete and submit your application
You can find the agricultural application form by logging in to 'My page' with BankID. We will ask you for the information and documentation we need to assess your project. In the application, you can use the 'Talk to an adviser' button to ask for guidance before submitting it. Remember, you must submit your application before starting the project.
2. Assessment
We process applications on an ongoing basis, and several people assess each application. Our guidelines and regional priorities determine which projects we can fund. We receive many applications and have limited funds, so we cannot approve every application.
3. Decision
Your customer adviser presents your application to the decision-maker. Once we have made a decision, we will notify you by email, and you can find the decision on My page. If we offer you funding, make sure you understand the terms and how we will disburse the funds.
